Mordred
Fate/Apocrypha CANON ~7 (mentally 16) AGE Zenith FACTION Tier 1 HARMONIZATION LEVEL
Pre-Summoning CANON POINT Female (uses masculine titles) GENDER Iconoclast ASPECT Tier 1 DISCORD LEVEL
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Like her father, Mordred is almost comically short for a knight, clocking in at 154cm (slightly taller in her armour), with an androgynous appearance from the neck up. In Kenos, those who have met Gray/[personal profile] gravings may notice immediately that the two are physically identical (despite the artstyle difference...), with only hair style/colour and Gray's scar distinguishing them visually, though their attitudes couldn't be more different.

This gives a good idea of her build, and her fashion sense can be summed up as 'bad' and 'please wear more clothes', outside of formal situations. For a live-action reference, her actress in the Camelot stage play is pretty damn perfect. Some more outfits: one, two, three, four.

She's voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro in JP, and Erica Lindbeck in ENG. Here's a comparison! I like both, so take your pick if you wanna do any sort of 'you sound familiar' shenanigans.

SHARD
In the shape of a saltire (diagonal cross), located over her chest. The texture/colour is akin to an uncut fire opal.

ASPECT TATTOO
On the back of her neck, usually hidden under her ponytail.

PERSONALITY
Bitter, angry, and vengeful, Mordred's everything you'd expect from the Knight of Treachery... except for the times where she rolls around on the ground like a child, or chases a stray cat on all fours. Mordred is a contradiction in more ways than one, from her love/hate (literally) relationship with her father, to her views on humanity as a whole and the values of a king. Her mood can fluctuate wildly in the space of one sentence, let alone a whole conversation, and she's about as volatile as an overgrown child with a hair-trigger temper.

Because, really, that's exactly what she is. Created to kill the king and then die long before adulthood, Mordred has spent her short life training for one thing, and it shows. Put her in a fight, at the head of an army, even on a throne, and she'll excel, but ask her to act like a normal, reasonable person, and she'll ruin it within seconds. She's bullheaded, impatient (with some exceptions), and can be incredibly unpleasant to deal with. Remember, she once threw away tens of thousands of lives for the sake of revenge on the king; something she shows zero remorse for, even after the dust settles.

On the flip side, she can take a liking to people based on something as shallow as their appearance or initial demeanor, and has a weird sense of loyalty about her. Gain her trust, and she'll follow you to the ends of the earth... unless you piss her off, in which case her sword will be at your throat in an instant. Good thing pissing her off is hard, right?

Haha.

ABILITIES & SKILLS
closes my eyes to avoid looking at fate/ powerlevels ever again

SERVANT As a Servant, much of Mordred's "baseline" powerlevel depends on her Master, or if she has one at all. In general, she has exemplary strength and endurance, very good agility and magical power, and shitawful luck. The former can be improved with a powerful enough Master, but as for the luck... she's stuck with that one.

Servants normally need a constant mana supply from a Master (or eating souls) simply to stay alive, but in Kenos, the world itself supplies her with enough to maintain her existence and use a lesser version of her powers. However, to fight at anything approaching her full power, she'll need much more, which can come from three places: human souls (she will refuse), bodily fluids (... yeah), or a Master. To reach her maximum potential, she will first need 1. to have a Master, 2. for said Master to be powerful, and 3. to drain their energy to supplement her own; effectively nerfing half the pair at any one time. Either Mordred can't go all-out, or her Master is acting as a living battery instead of being at their full strength.

Mordred currently does not have a Master in Kenos, and though she definitely wants the power boost, she's incredibly wary of giving someone that kind of control over her. I will be playing this one by ear! UPDATE: her Master is Gray/[personal profile] gravings, and those capable of seeing such things will be able to detect that the two of them are connected by magical energy.
GENERAL Spirit form: She can dematerialize, allowing her to remain invisible (to those who can't detect her via other means) and pass through objects, at the cost of not being able to interact with anything, dulling her senses, and making her incredibly vulnerable to anything that can harm spirits. This would be great for spying... except for the fact that she hates doing this, and will actively refuse without good reason.

Magic Resistance: ... Magic resistance. Only high-ranking spells can damage her. (Canon says "nothing below three verses", but that's stupid and weird, so any moderately skilled mage will be able to get through this. It'll just stop, like, baby's first fireball, unless it's funnier than she gets hit.)

Riding: Can ride anything from a horse to a car to a plane by pure instinct, even if she's never been taught. Applies to animals as well, unless they're magical or Special in some way.

Instinct: Effectively a spider sense (reduced to the level of a very alert, battle-trained human) and the effects of anything that might impede her sight or vision are reduced.

Battle Continuation: She's hard to kill. Even in the process of dying, she'll keep fighting until she drops. Doesn't apply to shard breakages, but she can fight through bodily injuries that would normally incapacitate others.

Charisma: Subtly increases the willingness of people to follow her, especially when rebelling. Has no effect on PCs, but maybe relevant for NPC involvement.

Swordsmanship: She possesses the same skill with a sword as King Arthur, but her fighting style is brutal and reckless. She'll literally bite you to death if she has to.
EQUIPMENT Being made of mana, Mordred's armour and sword can be manifested at any time... but it does still have realistic weight, and will drain her stamina to fight in. Despite its fearsome appearance, her armour is otherwise largely unremarkable, with the exception of her helmet; known as "secret of pedigree" or "helm of hidden infidelity"... yeah, it's exactly what it sounds like. It prevents her identity and powerlevels from being discovered in almost all situations, but she has to cancel this to use her Noble Phantasm (see below).

Her sword, Clarent, is just a fancy sword that she stole from King Arthur's treasury, with its most notable feature being its ability to channel the mana required for her Noble Phantasm without shattering.
NOBLE PHANTASM Or, in non Fate/ parlance, her ultimate attack. Called "Clarent Blood Arthur", full name "Rebellion Against My Beautiful Father", because Mordred is very fine and normal about King Arthur. Activated when she cancels the identity-concealing effects of her helmet and infuses Clarent with all her mana and hatred; the sword becomes tainted, and shoots an incredibly powerful stream of lightning from the tip that basically obliterates everything it hits (up to the powercap); afterward, she ends up in excruciating pain, and will likely dissipate without a Master to back her up.
KENOS-EXCLUSIVE Tier 1 spells: Alarm, Beast Bond, Grease. She's effectively a perma-novice with these, as she despises magecraft despite being reasonably knowledgeable about it. (Having one of the most powerful mages in history as a mother will do that.)

OUT OF CHARACTER
Writing Style: I default to brackets, but happy to do prose.

Backtagging: Please, god. I'm Australian.

Threadhopping: If it's not a serious thread, go for your life. If it is just ask first!

Offensive Subjects: Nah.

Misc: I'm always fully up to date on FGO spoilers (I play NA, and follow the JP fan translations/summaries), and will happily match your level of comfort when it comes to those. ♥ If you're still playing through, or would like to stick to english only content, etc etc, please just let me know. Same goes for Apocrypha itself, whether the anime or the light novels. On the other hand, if you would like to incorporate spoiler plot points or characters, feed me. I'm hungry for it.

IN CHARACTER
Physical Violence: lmao

Death/Dissipation: With plotting.

Physical Affection: Yes, she's very free with giving physical feedback: pats on the back, high-fives and the like. She's much, much less used to receiving it (living inside a suit of armour your whole life will do that), and while she most likely won't react poorly to anything platonic, she might be a bit startled at first.

Shipping/Sex: Yes, women only for both. Mordred has Not Fucked, but tried to cajole Guinevere into marrying her to anger her father, and comments in Fate/Grand Order that "For a knight, whether it be horse, wave, or woman... the harder they are to handle, the greater the valor in taming them!" I'd say beat her ass, but unfortunately she's into that.

Mental/Communion: Communion yes, mental contact/mindreading/etc fine OOC, but will probably get a very Strong reaction IC. Her mind is an absolute mess, so be warned if you want to go poking around in there.

Offensive Subjects: King Arthur, treating her like a girl, King Arthur, homunculi, King Arthur, fathers, King Arthur, mothers, King Arthur... there's a pattern here. As for things that might come up in threads with Mordred: she's a product of non-consensual incest (Arthurian legend...), and was a serious victim of child abuse by her mother, the latter of which has left her with some very unhealthy views and coping mechanisms. Please feel free to opt out of any mention of these (or Mordred entirely) in bracket text or otherwise -- comments are screened, or you can always PM me!
